Our 25th Anniversary!

Serving Nelson, Kaslo and the East Shore of Kootenay Lake, the Society is celebrating our 25th year with two special events!

End of Life Care

A free community education event at the Oxygen Centre with guest storyteller Ray Stothers and local nurse-counselor Rivkah Moore who specializes in hospice care. April 15th 6-8PM.

During her presentation, Rivkah will decipher the jargon and open the door to an exploration of the path we all eventually take - offering a glimpse into the very complex yet ordinary act of dying.

Living with Our Dying

In the Hume Room at the Hume Hotel, May 12th 6-8PM

This year's topic "Dying at Home" will feature a guest panel speaking from both a personal and professional point of view about the myths, challenges and opportunities around supporting someone who wants to die at home.
